Daily Prompt: Elegantly-Petty

via Daily Prompt: Elegant

Everyone isn’t  born with elegance, everyone isn’t taught elegance.  Timeless and pure are the thoughts that enter my mind, while hearing the word elegant.   Elegance is not  something you  put on  and take off. It is not like a light switch where you turn it off and on. To be elegance is to embrace the luxury of life, to it’s fullest. Enjoying the finer things in life. Living an elegant life is enjoying the beauty of life experiences gracefully. Not being hood, ghetto, or trailer- park trash is a start.  Let’s be honest, most people feel as if elegance is in  the clothes you wear. Truth is it is how you carrier your self.  Can you be elegantly petty? Sure you can, without acting as if you have a 3rd- grade education.  Just because your mate cheated, doesn’t give you the right to cheat, that’s petty. It doesn’t give you the right to search through phones or destroy property. It gives you the power to know your worth, and  leave the relationship.  The elegant way to handle the situation is by going onto be successful, grand, and awesome without that person. You can make the choice to be clever  and classy. You don’t have to be fragile to elegant,  but classic and uncompressed.

A woman  can walk in elegance, she can be sophisticated, fashionable, and artistic.  In a relationship, you are not responsible for making your woman fell this way. You are to show her that she is the vision of elegance. You can show her through the way you treat her. Prove to her she is not ordinary, but special. You can reveal to her as a reminder that she is elegant by being creative in the romance department. As you show her that you are mindful of her elegance she will carry herself with more grace and poise.

Respecting  your relationship enough  not to cheat, is a form of elegance. Being elegant will yield respect.  Understanding that your relationship with your spouse is exquisite and cultivated will demand respect even when you all are not on the same page.  That demanded respect will cause you to have appropriate actions, when you are placed in inappropriate positions.  Remember  you can make your relationship elegant. So I ask a question, what are you showing your mate?

The Holy Spirit

He can be grieved.

Ephesians 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Grieve- deep mental, anguish, to be sorrowful.

***To grieve the holy spirit is to displease him. The Holy Spirit abides in us forever never leaving us.

***John 14-16:17 and I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter, that He may be with you forever, Even the Spirit of reality, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him; but you know Him, because He abides with you and shall be in you.

***He is grieve when we do not walk according to him. That is when we do not live according to the principle of reality with grace in the detail of our daily walk.

Romans 8:4 that the righteousness requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us we do not walk according to the flesh but according to the spirit.

The Holy Spirit of God should never be pushed away ignored or rejected and we will remember that the one who lives in us as God’s Own Spirit we would be much more selective about what we think, read, watch, say and do. Paul knowledge that evil thoughts and actions are Temptations even for those who are sealed by the Holy Spirit.

God has more

Romans 12:12

Rejoice and hope; endure in tribulations; persevere in prayer.

Our hope should not be compare with unfounded certainly. In spite of the frequent suffering and persecution, hope is such a important key.

Hope– to desire something with confident expectations of its fulfillment

I hope is that we will be brought into the glory of God, that is, into His expression.

Rom 5:3 and not only so, but we also boast in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces endurance;

Tribulations are part of the all things in Romans 8:28 that God calls us to work together for good that we might be Sanctified, transform, and conform to the image of His Son.

Romans 14:17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Spiritual realities in righteousness in action and thought, peace that seeks harmony, and joy that comes from the Holy Spirit. Those who understand the spiritual realities of the kingdom will not choose the brief joy.

Rom 8:24. For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

Can it be

The Holy Spirit can be resisted.

Resist: withstand the action or effect of

We going to look at the following scriptures: Acts 7:51, Acts 5:3

When don’t usually think about anyone resisting The Holy Spirit but they do. A person can resist the Holy Spirit just like people resist Jesus Christ and The Father. The Holy Spirit doesn’t force himself onto you, you have to be willing to accept and be obedient to him. No matter how you think about the Holy Spirit manifesting in a person whatever that is through shouting, singing, dancing or talking they have to be willing to The Spirit.

There are two ways we are going to look at of how the Holy Spirit can be resisted. One way is total resistance and another way is partial resistance.

A total resistance to the Holy Spirit would be in Acts 7:51. In this scripture verse of Acts 7:51 it states, “Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.” So in this particular verse it let us know not only that the Holy Spirit can be resisted but it can resisted through generations. This is where generational curses come into play. Sometimes a person might want to do right but find themselves in positions where they always doing wrong even the Holy Spirit is trying to guide and steer them in the right direction.

There are some people that will obey and listen to the Holy Spirit but up to a certain point. This what I call a partial resistance because they are not fully obeying but they are not totally disobeying the Holy Spirit. We are going to use Acts 5:3 for the partial resistance.

The Bible verse in Acts 5:3 states this, ”

But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?” To help you see how this considered to a partial resistance, I gave you background to this verse. You see Peter was filled with The Holy Ghost this stated back in Acts 4:8. During the time the Holy Spirit was talking through Peter He command those that were possessors of lands or houses that were sold to them and brought the prices of the things that were sold, Acts 4:34. The possessors were told to laid them down at the apostles feet and distribution was made unto every man according to their need, Acts 4:35. In Acts 5:1-2, it tells you that Ananias kept back part of the price of a possession that he and his wife sold.

So as you see in verse 3, chapter 5 of Acts, Peter ask why Ananias let Satan to fill his heart to lie to the Holy Ghost by not being honest about  the price of the possession that was sold. Ananias and his wife partial obey the Holy Spirit because they laid to feet of the apostles a price of a possession that they sold. However they did not give the full price as The Holy Spirit command everyone who had lands, brought and sold possessions.

If the Holy Spirit tells you do something and you only do a certain part of what He told you then you are partially resisting the Holy Spirit.

When a person doesn’t follows or allow The Spirit to use them fully then you are resisting the Holy Spirit, whether that is total resistance or partial resistance. They are still Resisting The Holy Spirit.

Short lesson

He convicts of sins.

What is the difference between conviction and condenming?

Convict– someone is to convince them of the reality of there sins and to help them recognize without a shadow of doubt that we have stumble and make arrow in our action.

To put at plan: The Holy Spirit moves on our heart and conscious that we may see where we went wrong.

To condemn it’s to tie us to our faults and to for ever entangle us with guilt. it sentence us with no hope of mercy.

What is the purpose of conviction?

***The Holy Spirit convicts us with the hope of leading us to repentance.

Why do he convicts us?

***To keep us from being comfortable in our sins.

John 15:26-27 but when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.

He is one to be obeyed

Acts 5:1-4

But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphire his wife, sold a possession. And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet. But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the pieces of the land for yourself? While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart?  You have not lied to man but to God.”

***He is one to obeyed

It wasn’t that he kept The possession it’s because he lied to the Holy Spirit. Peter said Ananias” Why have you let Satan feel your heart to lied to the Holy Spirit and you kept some of the money for yourself.

***He is one to be obeyed.

When we make up our minds not to obey the Holy Spirit we allow Satan to feel our hearts with lies and deceits. We all need to be very careful when we say God said or the spirit of the Lord said because he is one to be obeyed.

Beating the odds

Heavenly and Gracious Father. El-Elyon (Most High), who is omnipotent and faithful in every way. We come before you with humble hearts, and open minds. Thanking you God for salvation trough your son, our saviour Jesus Christ. Asking for forgiveness of our sins, and guidance for our repentance. Thank you Lord for empowering us to beating the odds in our lives, ministry, and relationships. By being our light and our salvation, a stronghold in our lives of whom shall we be afraid; Psalm27:1. Jehovah-jireh(Our Provider), we are beating the odds because we claim victory, for as your children we have overcome the world, even our faith; as 1John5:4 tells us. Thank you Jehovah-Rapha(Our Healer), that as believers in Christ, we are beating the odds of sickness in our lives. We decree and declare 1Peter2:24, by his wounds(stripes), we have been healed. Jehovah-Shalom (Our Peace), we decree and declare beating the odds with peace in our lives that surpasses all understanding. Because when our ways are pleasing to you Lord, you will make even our enemies be at peace with us; Proverbs16:7. Thank you Father God, that you are our Jehovah-Rohi(Our Shepherd). So when we feel over-whelmed with challenges. We beat the odds, when we can cast all our anxiety on you Lord, because you care for us; 1Peter5:7. Adoni, we decree and declare as new creations through Christ Jesus, we have beaten the odds in every area of our lives. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. We decree and declare all these things, in the mighty and precious name of Jesus. Amen!

Yahweh, Yahweh, You are so Holy, you are high and lifted up and worthy to be praised.  He will be called “Wonderful Counselor” “Mighty God,” “Everlasting father,” “Prince of Peace.”

Isa.9:6. Heavenly Father I come to you now in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Father I ask that you forgive me of my sins and forgive me of my hidden faults according to Ps.19:12. Holy Spirit I pray that you would quicken me to “be still” to hear your voice. Ex 14:14 says the Lord will fight for you; you need only to “be still” renew my hope, Oh Lord, give me peace within, new relationships that will grace my life, give me patience to “be still” and remember that you are God.

Short lesson

holy: dedicated or consecrated to God or a religious purpose, sacred

spirit: the nonphysical part of a person that is the seat of emotions and character; the soul. those qualities regarded as forming the definitive or typical elements in the character of a person, nation, or group or in the thought and attitudes of a particular period.

The Holy Spirit has feelings

Ephesians 4:30  –  And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

grieve: suffer grief 2. feel grief for or because of 3 cause great distress to (someone)

In the scripture it let us know that The Holy Spirit has feelings and for us not cause The Spirit to be distress by our actions. The Holy Spirit is described as a Comforter, a teacher and guidance counselor, John 14:26. In order for the Holy Spirit to perform their duties to us, we have to be in right spirit. We can’t allow or afford ourselves to be operating out the wrong spirit. If we are operating in the wrong spirit we could miss exactly what God is telling us to do and our breakthrough. For this reason it is important that we do not grieve The Holy Spirit.

This is the time when you address why you handle things in the closet. For me I had to address the lost of my father, that huge lost plagued my life for years. The continuous questions of why and how my life could have been different if he was there. The lack of emotional support and validation I looked for in others, played a great part in my failures, but it was something I allowed. I permitted their opinions to hold me hostage in the closet. These are the things that kept me in the dark. Because I had been rejected by those that loved me, I stayed in the closet. I was afraid that the level of encouragement from others may not be enough to sustain me during the hard times. I was so worried that if I didn’t get the adequate amount of support that I needed, that meant I automatically failed. I lived my life like this till I was 25yrs old. There was big change in my life that helped me move away from that way of thinking. Around that time I moved to Denver, CO. There I was fortunate enough to meet a preacher by the name of Monica Hawkins. We were having a meeting at Panera Bread one day and she asked me out of no where, “What my core issue was?” I didn’t properly understand the question. I thought about it, yet I couldn’t answer it. Then she said, “rejection”. I started recapping my life’s events, and tears came to my eyes. Monica knew that hit me in a place where I’ve never shared with anybody. She sensed something in my spirit I was afraid to face. Then she asked me simply if I was ready to peel back those layers to uncover the real me. All I could do was just nod, no words escaped my lips. Didn’t even know the words to use even if I wanted to speak, all I could simply do was nod. You see at the time I was already a licensed and ordained Pastor, however I wasn’t operating as one.

That should make you feel better. That was refreshing. God is increasing your faith right now.

I want to let you in on a litte secret about me. I was never the straight A, honor roll student or scholar like my older sister. I would have some of her teachers and they would say, “Oh I had Courtney she was an amazing student. I know you are going to shine like her.” Boy, how wrong could they have been. Truth was I was completely different from Courtney. I did the bare minimum to pass, I would skip class, and I was a fighter, so I was constantly getting kicked out of school. I was the opposite of this amazing scholar according to everybody. At one point I really tried hard to understand the assignments and put my best foot forward. If Courtney could get all those praises, I wonder how many could get If I really tried. I started getting high B’s and low A’s. I was excited, I finally could understand the feeling of accomplishment and working hard and seeing it work out. Yet I didn’t get all those praises like I thought I would have gotten. A Lot of people weren’t as excited or proud of me like I was of myself. Soon after I quickly became discouraged. Why wasn’t I getting praises like Courtney got? Didn’t I deserve them too, didn’t I earn them?. I wanted others to see how I was changing and be proud of it, to accept that I could be the amazing kid too. Due to lack of support, I reverted back to the old me. In the end I only hurt myself. It wasn’t until I was able to account why others approval meant so much to me, that I was able to develop a relationship with God and seek approval from the one it really mattered the most from.
